Fortec Integrated Welcomes Delegation from German International University in Cairo
A Strong Step Toward Academic–Industry Partnership Across Borders
Germering, July 18, 2025 – Fortec Integrated recently hosted a delegation from the German International University in Cairo (GIU), welcoming 16 engineering students and two faculty members to its headquarters in Germering. The visit served as a technical deep dive into Fortec’s capabilities and the beginning of a strategic partnership with one of Egypt’s most respected engineering institutions.
The guests were introduced to the Fortec Group’s structure, its subsidiaries, and the wide-ranging portfolio of display and embedded solutions. From there, the visit moved into the heart of the operation: students toured the company’s production lines, engaged with engineers across departments, and gained firsthand insight of the company’s specialized departments, as well as its state-of-the-art production facilities. Highlights included guided tours through Fortec Integrated’s manufacturing units and interactive presentations from the R&D division, showcasing the latest developments in display technologies, system integration, and innovative laboratory prototypes.
This event not only facilitated an engaging exchange of ideas and technical knowledge, but also laid the foundation for a future partnership between Fortec and the German International University in Cairo — one of Egypt’s young institutions for applied engineering education. Additionally, it reflected Fortec’s broader commitment to open exchange, not just between professionals, but across borders and cultures.

GIU: Advancing German Academic Standards in an Egyptian Context
As a relatively young institution, the German International University in Cairo represents a bold vision: delivering a German-modeled, globally oriented engineering education within Egypt. Backed by strong academic ties to Germany and a modern, industry-facing curriculum, GIU is building a reputation for preparing graduates to thrive in high-technology environments — both locally and internationally.
Through its internship and industry-exchange initiatives, GIU actively encourages students to engage with real-world challenges and gain experience in forward-looking technology sectors abroad.
Fortec Egypt: Investing in Talent, Building Regional Bridges
For Fortec Egypt, the Cairo-based arm of the group, this collaboration marks a meaningful step forward. As the company expands its role across the MENA region, partnerships like this align educational goals with industry needs, Fortec Egypt aims to nurture technical talent, support applied research, and encourage cross-cultural innovation.
Internships, applied research, and project-based collaboration with GIU are already in discussion. The goal is to create practical avenues where knowledge and engineering discipline come together — benefitting students, industry, and the region, and merging academic theory with hands-on engineering experience.
Pushing Forward: Fortec’s Vision for the MENA Region
This visit is a pivotal step in Fortec Egypt’s broader strategy to become a technology leader within the MENA region. Through strategic partnerships like this one, Fortec is working to expand access to engineering expertise, cultivate the next generation of innovators, and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of technology across the region.
“We are proud to support educational initiatives that inspire the engineers of tomorrow,” said Country Manager of Fortec Egypt, Haitham Fouad. “Welcoming GIU to our facilities is part of our long-term vision to foster regional talent and position Fortec as a driver of knowledge and innovation throughout the Middle East and North Africa.”
Fortec thanks all team members involved in organizing the visit and looks forward to deepening its collaboration with GIU in the months and years ahead.
