Designed to work in tandem with a carrier board, COMs deliver powerful processing and connectivity while allowing for application-specific customization. The COM itself houses critical components such as the CPU, memory interface, and standard I/O, while the carrier board defines the custom interfaces and I/Os tailored to the target environment or application.
